Texas Statewide Survey Launches to Measure Organizational AI Readiness
AI Advisory Group (AIAG) today announced the launch of the State of AI Readiness Survey – Texas, a statewide research initiative designed to benchmark how organizations across Texas are preparing for artificial intelligence.
The initiative is led by The Validated Mind™ Research Lab, the research arm of AI Advisory Group, and aims to evaluate how organizations are preparing for AI across strategy, governance, data infrastructure, technology platforms, and workforce readiness.
The survey is being distributed in partnership with Innovate Energy, the initiative’s first industry partner helping expand distribution throughout the energy sector and broader business ecosystem.
While many discussions about AI focus on tools and technology, this research initiative focuses on a more fundamental question: Are organizations actually ready to implement AI successfully?

Measuring Readiness Beyond Technology
The State of AI Readiness Survey evaluates five core organizational factors that influence whether AI initiatives succeed or fail:
• Leadership alignment and decision discipline
• Governance, oversight, and risk management
• Data readiness and accessibility
• Organizational adoption and workforce impact
• Financial expectations and ROI discipline
While much of the public conversation around AI focuses on tools and technology, organizations often discover that their greatest challenges are not technical.
Many invest heavily in new AI capabilities only to find that leadership alignment, governance, and operational readiness were never fully established.
According to AI Advisory Group’s research model, this challenge—often described as decision drift—occurs when organizations move forward with technology initiatives before leadership alignment and decision clarity are in place.
Findings to Be Released at Industrial AI Nexus Conference
The findings from the statewide survey will be released publicly at the Industrial AI Nexus Conference 2026, taking place June 22, 2026 in The Woodlands, Texas.
The report will include:
• Industry benchmarks for AI readiness
• Sector insights across energy, healthcare, and SMB organizations
• Indicators of organizational AI maturity
• Strategic recommendations for leaders preparing for AI integration
Organizations that participate in the survey will receive early access to the full research report once the results are released.
