Mike Tyson said once, that everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. This does not mean you should not plan, but you can be mindful that things change. The best plan is one of experience. Experience allows you to be confident in your flexibility and allows you to maneuver through change management processes with ease.  

You have heard that people don’t remember what you did or say, they remember how you made them feel. EI is a  critical skill in which you need to master to reach your goals as a leader and as part of a team. Scaling the ladder of success requires more than just yourself. You must learn to work with others as you climb or you may reach the top without anyone to share it with. 

Have you ever climbed a ladder and reached the top only to look back and be a little surprised on how high up you were? Because we like quotes around here, here is one more. Mike Hawkins says, “You don’t get results by focusing on results. You get results by focusing on the actions that produce results.” We think of results more like milestones than end goals. When you get high enough the ladder becomes irrelevant and it becomes about something else entirely.
